The KASC PROJECT B.001 Blended Irish Whiskey
Whiskey Shop / Buy Whiskey Online
The KASC Project [B] is the world's first Hybrid Cask Blended Irish whiskey. Inspired by the original whiskey making culture that rejected the status quo, this is an escape into the new and previously unknown ways of whiskey making, using bespoke hybrid casks.
"The result is an outstanding whiskey that could instigate a game of flavour bingo: cinnamon, nutmeg, sweet pastry, apricot and herbs are just some that will fill your card, while a load of woody notes steadily percolate and bristle throughout. A highly successful whiskey experiment – and great value too". —Nick Moyle (Independent UK).
About The KASC Project
The KASC Project is a bold experiment in whiskey-making using the provenance of wood as the key factor of flavour design and construction. Each whiskey is made in hand made “hybrid” cask, individually constructed from a mix of 5 different types of trees from unique origins: Portuguese Oak, American Oak, French Oak, Hungarian Oak and Chestnut. The individual habitat of each type of tree brings a completely unique flavour variant to this innovative whiskey, creating a multi-dimensional flavour and character.
Daring and unconventional, the KASC Project, originally an experiment by Kinahan’s Irish whiskey, turned out to be tremendously successful and is now pushing whiskey making methods to the next level.
Disclaimer
Whilst the KASC Project quickly acquired its fan base, it also turned out to be proliferating. This posed a problem to whiskey lovers, who bought into the novelty without understanding what this whiskey project really stands for.
The KASC Project, before anything else, is a celebration of iconoclasts, who are ready to take on wicked problems by implementing transformative solutions. It is a celebration of hybrid thinkers and their ability to integrate different creative ways for the next generation of whiskey lovers.
It is not surprising that any criticism that has been directed at the KASC Project is mostly delivered by the traditionalists, the “gatekeepers”, who expect the same and the familiar. So —if you are not prepared to leave your comfort zone, the hybrid cask whiskey releases are simply not for you.
